CHONGWE DISTRICT HEALTH DIRECTOR DR MWEENE NSELUKE ARRESTED FOR CORRUPTION INVOLVING OVER K422,000

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested and charged Dr. Mweene Tembalami Nseluke, a District Health Director at the Chongwe District Health Office, for corruption involving more than K422,000.
Dr. Nseluke, 47, of House No. A07, Chainama Hills Hospital, faces ten (10) counts of Failure to Declare Conflict of Interest contrary to Section 19 (3)(b) and 19 (9), as read with Section 107 of the Public Procurement Act No. 8 of 2020, of the Laws of Zambia.
According to ACC findings, on 1st June 2022, Dr. Nseluke, in his official capacity, signed a contract on behalf of the Ministry of Health with Lukem Prominent Ventures a company in which he held a direct interest. The contract, intended for the servicing and repair of Ministry of Health motor vehicles in Chongwe District, was signed by his sister, Sinikiwe Masuka, representing Lukem Prominent Ventures.
Further investigations with the Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA) confirmed that Dr. Nseluke is the registered owner of Lukem Prominent Ventures. It was also established that he approved and certified payments to the same company amounting to K422,415.00, without declaring any conflict of interest.
Dr. Nseluke has since been released on bond and is expected to appear before the court on Friday, 20th June 2025, for plea and possible commencement of trial.
The Anti-Corruption Commission has reaffirmed its commitment to combating corruption and emphasized that no public official who breaches the law for personal gain will be spared from legal consequences.
