Lusaka, 28 July 2025 — The Zambia National Service (ZNS) has announced the immediate suspension of Sergeant Rhodah Njobvu following her involvement in the production and circulation of an obscene and indecent video in which she featured.
According to a press statement released by ZNS, the suspension is intended to pave way for police investigations and the possible prosecution of the case. As a result, Sergeant Njobvu will not be allowed to officially perform any ZNS duties and will be placed on half pay until the courts of law determine the outcome of the matter.
“This action is in line with ZNS disciplinary procedures and regulations,” read the statement signed by Brigadier General Mable Mulenga-Nyone, ZNS Chief of Public Relations and Liaison.
ZNS emphasized that it is working closely with the Zambia Police in handling the case. Additionally, the outcome of the court proceedings will inform the conclusion of Sergeant Njobvu’s internal disciplinary case, the details of which will also be communicated to the public in due course.
“As a disciplined institution that respects the culture and core values of the nation, ZNS remains steadfast in upholding moral, ethical, and lawful behavioural conduct of all its personnel,” the statement added.
ZNS has reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism and accountability as it awaits the legal and disciplinary outcomes of the case.
