PRESIDENT HICHILEMA EMBARKS ON STRATEGIC UK VISIT: STRENGTHENING TIES, UNLOCKING INVESTMENT, AND DRIVING ZAMBIA’S GROWTH

Lusaka, 29th September 2025 – President Hakainde Hichilema will travel to the United Kingdom this week on a three-day working visit, at the invitation of His Majesty King Charles III. While in Scotland, the Head of State is expected to have an audience with King Charles as part of his engagements.

The visit marks a renewed chapter in Zambia’s long-standing relations with the United Kingdom, stretching back to the pre-independence era and expanding across key sectors of cooperation. The working visit is designed to reaffirm and deepen these ties, with an emphasis on delivering tangible benefits to the Zambian people.

While in London, President Hichilema will headline an investment-focused forum, convening business leaders and policy stakeholders to explore fresh opportunities for economic collaboration. The goal is to unlock new investment flows, create quality jobs, and support Zambia’s path to sustainable growth.

In addition, the President will hold high-level discussions with UK Government officials to advance initiatives in trade, development, and partnerships. These dialogues align with Zambia’s broader mission of transforming into a competitive economy that delivers sustained growth for all citizens.

Promoting economic diplomacy has been a central pillar of President Hichilema’s administration. This visit reinforces the Government’s determination to attract investment, stimulate innovation, and drive inclusive economic progress, ensuring that all Zambians can fulfill their potential.

President Hichilema is expected to return home immediately after concluding his engagements.
