The government has intensified efforts to address the escalating traffic congestion along the 6–22 Miles stretch of road, following mounting public complaints over delays caused by ongoing construction works.
The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development has expressed regret over the situation, assuring motorists and commuters that immediate measures are being implemented to decongest the affected section
Permanent Secretary Professor Albert Malama convened a high-level meeting with the contractor, Macro Oceans Investment Consortium, as well as officials from Road Development Agency and Road Transport and Safety Agency to ensure strict adherence to the traffic management plan.
“We understand the frustration caused by the gridlock and assure the public that we are working tirelessly to resolve the issue,” Professor Malama emphasized, adding that the ministry remains committed to accelerating the project while minimizing disruptions.
The Ministry has appealed to road users for patience and cooperation as construction works advance, reaffirming its resolve to deliver lasting road infrastructure solutions.
