CHINA’S PREMIER LI QIANG TO VISIT ZAMBIA FOR HIGH-LEVEL TALKS

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that China’s Premier, H.E. Li Qiang, will pay an Official Visit to Zambia from 19th to 20th November 2025 at the invitation of President Hakainde Hichilema.

The visit comes after President Hichilema’s successful State Visit to China in 2023, where the two nations upgraded relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership. Premier Li Qiang’s trip reaffirms China’s commitment to strengthening its historic ties with Zambia.

During his stay, Premier Li Qiang will hold bilateral talks with President Hichilema at State House, focusing on boosting cooperation in trade, investment, energy, mining, agriculture, technology, and the revitalisation of TAZARA. The leaders will also review progress on ongoing projects and explore new areas of collaboration under FOCAC.

China’s longstanding partnership with Zambia spans six decades, supporting major developments in infrastructure, mining, health, education, and manufacturing. The visit underscores China’s recognition of Zambia as a key strategic partner in regional connectivity and industrialisation.

Premier Li Qiang is expected to depart on 20th November 2025 following the conclusion of his engagements.
