The New Dawn Government, led by President Hakainde Hichilema, through SMART Zambia and Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU) has launched the Citizen Support Services Portal, reinforcing its commitment to transparent and citizen-centred governance.
At the launch, Secretary to the Cabinet, Mr. Patrick K. Kangwa, who was supported by his Namibian counterpart described the portal as a “cornerstone of government transformation,” addressing historical inefficiencies in service delivery. “This platform empowers citizens, fosters trust, and creates a transparent government that serves the people,” he remarked.
The portal, designed under the Smart Zambia Institute, integrates digital channels to simplify public engagement. Citizens can now submit requests, track progress, and engage directly with government departments, eliminating the challenges of outdated systems.
National Coordinator of Smart Zambia, Mr. Percy Chinyama, stressed its alignment with Vision 2030. “This initiative ensures inclusive access to services, embodying President Hichilema’s vision of leaving no one behind,” he stated.
Head of the Presidential Delivery Unit, Ms. Kusobile Kamwambi, encouraged collaboration among stakeholders to maximise the portal’s potential. “This is an essential step in Zambia’s journey toward better service delivery,” she said.
Acting Government Chief Technical Officer, Mr. Mulomba Hameja, highlighted how the platform simplifies bureaucratic processes. “It’s a practical solution that responds to citizens’ expectations for timely and efficient service delivery,” he added.
The Citizen Support Services Portal exemplifies Zambia’s leadership in digital transformation, empowering citizens and strengthening the government’s responsiveness to public needs.
