The United Party for National Development (UPND) Lusaka Central Constituency Member of Parliament, Mulambo Haimbe, together with constituency officials, has launched an intensive party mobilization program aimed at strengthening support for President Hakainde Hichilema ahead of the 2026 general elections.
The campaign commenced in Silwiza Ward, where Haimbe energized supporters by distributing party regalia, including full sets of chitenges and T-shirts, creating a visible show of solidarity as the ward was symbolically “painted red.”
During the event, Haimbe underscored the purpose of the mobilization drive, emphasizing the need to rally support for President Hichilema, whom he credited for significant achievements under the UPND-led government.
“Today, our children are attending school for free from Grade 1 to Grade 12. We have seen massive employment across key sectors, including health, education and the military. School bursaries and university meal allowances have been reintroduced, among many other developmental initiatives,” Haimbe stated passionately.
The MP further urged party members to remain steadfast in their commitment to promoting President Hichilema’s vision for Zambia, even amid challenges.
He encouraged the members to prioritize unity and the broader goal of ensuring President Hichilema secures a second term in 2026.
“Despite internal misunderstandings, our primary focus must be on selling the vision of HH and mobilizing support for his leadership,” he said.
Addressing concerns such as load shedding and other issues attributed to climate change, Haimbe reassured the gathering that the country is on the right trajectory under the UPND government.
“Zambia is 1,000 steps ahead compared to where we were under the Patriotic Front (PF) administration. The New Dawn government has laid a strong foundation for both short- and long-term solutions. Let us remain optimistic as we continue to witness positive changes,” he added.
Lusaka Central Constituency Chairman, Mubita, echoed Haimbe’s call for unity, stressing the importance of togetherness within the party. “UPND is a party built on unity. As we approach the 2026 elections, let us stand together as one constituency and consistently promote the vision of HH,” Mubita emphasized.
The mobilization meeting in Silwiza Ward saw an impressive turnout, with a significant number of party members in attendance. The event highlighted the UPND’s growing momentum in Lusaka Central and the party’s dedication to strengthening grassroots structures ahead of the next electoral cycle.
