In a recent interview, Mrs. Judith Chilombo Beene, the ICT Director at the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, lauded the transformative role of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) dashboard in improving efficiency, transparency and coordination within the ministry.
Developed by the Electronic Government Division (SMART Zambia Institute), the CDF dashboard serves as a sophisticated electronic reporting tool that enables local authorities to track and report their utilization of CDF allocations and the progress of project implementations.
Mrs. Beene highlighted the dashboard’s comprehensive coverage, which includes community projects, grants, loans and secondary school bursaries.
“The CDF dashboard brings transparency and accountability to the implementation of projects, allowing for real-time monitoring and evaluation,” she stated. “It’s a game-changer for our ministry and the country as a whole.”
The platform’s real-time monitoring capabilities not only streamline reporting processes but also facilitate timely and accurate updates to higher authorities, including the Cabinet Office. This ensures that the implementation of projects remains transparent and accessible to key stakeholders.
The CDF dashboard exemplifies the ministry’s commitment to leveraging technology to drive sustainable development.
By enabling seamless coordination and providing actionable insights, the tool strengthens governance at all levels and fosters confidence in public resource management.
As Zambia continues to embrace digital transformation, innovations like the CDF dashboard underscore the critical role of ICT in shaping the future of governance and service delivery.
