PRESIDENT HICHILEMA EXPLORES INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABILITY PARTNERSHIPS IN KYOTO, JAPAN

This morning, the President of the Republic of Zambia Mr Hakainde Hichilema visited two pioneering companies in Kyoto, Japan—Horiba Technologies Group and Sustaina Kyoto South Clean Centre—to explore potential collaborations in technology and sustainability.
Horiba Technologies Group, a global leader in analytical instrumentation, provides advanced solutions for environmental sustainability and health diagnostics. Recognizing the potential benefits for Zambia, President Hichilema emphasized plans to collaborate with Horiba to enhance healthcare services in the country.
At Sustaina Kyoto South Clean Centre, the President examined cutting-edge waste management technology that converts waste into energy.
He has since directed the Ministry of Local Government to adopt and implement similar initiatives in collaboration with local authorities. This strategic move aligns with Zambia’s vision for sustainable waste management, energy generation, and economic growth, reinforcing its goal of achieving middle-income status by 2030.
