The Government of Zambia has thrown its support behind the Victoria Falls Live Project, a groundbreaking initiative that will use music and art as a platform for climate action and environmental advocacy.
During a meeting on Monday, January 20, 2025, Youth and Sport Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kangwa Chileshe, welcomed Mr. Tommy Lexon, Managing Director of Immersive International, and Mr. Giovanni Agusta, CEO of Agusta Productions and acclaimed music composer.
The discussions centered on leveraging the arts to engage communities and promote environmental conservation.
Mr. Lexon emphasized the project’s commitment to partnering with the Ministry to mobilize youth and artists nationwide.
The initiative seeks to empower young people by providing opportunities for creative storytelling, skills development, and advocacy on pressing environmental issues such as water conservation and reforestation.
Commending the project’s vision, Mr. Chileshe expressed confidence in its potential impact, describing Victoria Falls as Zambia’s “untold secret” and an ideal setting for this bold initiative.
He assured the project team of the New Dawn Government’s unwavering support, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing climate challenges.
The Victoria Falls Live Project, operating under the ROAR brand, is a charity concert series designed to inspire climate action through a unique blend of music and nature.
Following a successful virtual launch last year, the project is set to expand with an in-person event between April and May 2025, with final dates soon to be announced.
Set against the awe-inspiring backdrop of Victoria Falls, one of the world’s most iconic natural wonders, the concert aims to attract millions of viewers and participants globally.
By blending entertainment with environmental stewardship, the project aspires to galvanize efforts toward water conservation, reforestation and ecological regeneration.
The initiative not only highlights Zambia’s environmental treasures but also positions the nation as a leader in innovative climate action strategies, offering a compelling model for others to follow.
