The Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC), in collaboration with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), has entered the second day of an intensive financial literacy training program aimed at strengthening the financial acumen of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Lusaka Province.
This initiative, funded by the Government of Zambia through CEEC, underscores the government’s commitment to empowering local businesses with essential financial management skills.
On this second day, the training delves deeper into critical financial topics designed to enhance the financial stability and growth potential of SMEs. Key discussions include:
- Steps to Create a Budget: A structured approach to planning and allocating financial resources effectively.
- Common Budgeting Mistakes: Identifying and avoiding common pitfalls that can hinder business growth.
- Understanding Financial Forecasting: The importance of predicting future financial trends to support business decision-making.
- Financial Forecasting Methods: Various techniques used to anticipate business financial performance.
- Income Statement Overview: Understanding key financial statements and their role in assessing business health. Additional financial management strategies to enhance SME sustainability.
This initiative is part of the broader government strategy to equip SMEs with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate financial challenges, improve business operations, and drive economic growth.
