The Zambian Government through Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts has initiated strategic discussions with Texila American University to address critical gaps in education and skills development among the nation’s youth.
In a courtesy visit to Hon. Elvis C. Nkandu, Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts, Texila University’s founder and president, Mr. Saju Bhaskar, reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to empowering young Zambians through affordable and impactful education.
The discussions highlighted collaborative efforts to align educational opportunities with the needs of Zambia’s youth, focusing on innovation, accessibility and long-term impact.
A centerpiece of the proposed partnership is the integration of the Kenneth Kaunda (KK) Scholarship Programme with tailored skills development initiatives at the country’s 25 youth resource centers.
This approach aims to enhance practical training and foster entrepreneurial capacities among young people.
Speaking on the initiative, Minister Nkandu stated, “Education is the cornerstone of our strategy to unlock the vast potential of Zambia’s youthful population.
By leveraging the youth resource centers across the nation, this collaboration could empower young people with the skills they need to thrive in today’s dynamic economy.”
Key areas of focus include providing scholarships for underprivileged youth and implementing training programs designed to inspire innovation and entrepreneurship.
The initiative also envisions equipping graduates with start-up kits to support self-employment and promote economic independence.
This promising partnership underscores the New Dawn Government’s commitment to advancing youth empowerment and creating sustainable opportunities for the next generation of Zambians.
