Police in Woodlands, through Bauleni Police Post, have launched a manhunt for 19-year-old Collins Lungu of Bauleni Compound, who is on the run after allegedly murdering his father, 63-year-old Chizola Lungu.
According to police, the incident occurred on the evening of September 4, 2025, following a domestic dispute over a phone charger. Reports indicate that Collins returned home and attempted to use his father’s charger, but was stopped. The disagreement escalated into a violent altercation, during which the suspect assaulted his father with fists and later struck him with a stool in the abdomen and head.
The victim collapsed and was rushed to Bauleni Clinic before being referred to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) where he was pronounced dead while receiving treatment. His body has since been deposited in the UTH mortuary awaiting postmortem.
Police have since opened a docket of case and instituted investigations. While no arrest has yet been made, officers have intensified efforts to apprehend the suspect.
