Health Minister Elijah Muchima has underscored the pivotal role of innovative communication strategies in enhancing public health awareness and tackling health challenges in Zambia.
Speaking on his behalf, Permanent Secretary for Technical Services, Dr. Kennedy Lishimpi, addressed stakeholders at the Innovative Communication for Development Meeting, organized by Population Media Center (PMC) Zambia. Dr. Muchima emphasized that leveraging modern communication technologies and platforms is key to engaging diverse audiences and driving positive health outcomes.
Dr. Muchima highlighted the need to humanize health issues, making them relatable and actionable to inspire behavioral change and encourage healthier lifestyles.
He commended PMC Zambia for its creative use of mass media, entertainment, and educational strategies to influence public perceptions, foster dialogue, and promote informed decision-making on health matters.
The Minister’s remarks align with the government’s broader goal of ensuring equitable access to healthcare services and contributing to human and socioeconomic development.
