Lusaka Central Constituency Member of Parliament, Mulambo Haimbe, has taken a significant step in youth empowerment by fulfilling his pledge to support local football teams with essential sports gear.
Last year, Haimbe sponsored a Talent Identification Football Scouting Tournament in Lusaka Central, where two standout players were selected from a pool of 26 participating teams to play in the prestigious Georgia League in Europe.
During the tournament, he committed to providing all participating teams with football jerseys as part of his broader vision to uplift grassroots sports.
Today, with the support of cooperative partners from the UK, Haimbe has successfully delivered eleven (11) sets of jerseys to eleven teams, reinforcing his dedication to nurturing young talent.
In a speech delivered on his behalf by Lusaka Central Constituency Mobilization Chairman, Mr. Ebson Chilima, Haimbe reaffirmed his commitment to the youth, stating:
“You chose me to work for you; I am your servant here in Lusaka Central. My job is to deliver and empower you. The President of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, has entrusted me with this responsibility, and I will do whatever it takes to ensure the youth of Lusaka Central rise and proudly lift our national flag.”
This initiative aligns with the New Dawn Government’s broader vision for Members of Parliament to spearhead youth empowerment programs across constituencies.
By investing in sports and talent development, the government aims to create more opportunities for young Zambians to excel both locally and internationally.
Haimbe assured the youth of Lusaka Central that he remains committed to working closely with them, promising continued support and collaboration to achieve even greater milestones.
