Lusaka, Zambia.

The Ministry of Agriculture strongly advises the public to disregard a fraudulent online advert titled “Expression of Interest for the Agriculture Small and Micro Enterprises (SMEs) Grant Initiative 2025,” which is currently being circulated across various social media platforms.

The Ministry wishes to make it unequivocally clear that it has not authorized or issued any such call for grant applications under the mentioned initiative. The document falsely bearing the Ministry’s name, logo, and fabricated contact information is entirely unauthorized and constitutes a deliberate attempt to mislead the public, particularly farmers, agribusinesses, and key stakeholders within the agricultural sector.

As a matter of policy, the Ministry’s official announcements, including funding opportunities and public invitations, are disseminated exclusively through its verified communication channels — namely the official Ministry website and accredited social media pages. Any documents, links, or information not originating from these official sources should be treated as suspicious and approached with utmost caution.

Members of the public are urged not to engage with or submit any personal, business, or financial information via the fraudulent link or advert. In addition, the Ministry has formally reported the scam to relevant security authorities for investigation, with a view to bringing the perpetrators to justice.

Stakeholders seeking to confirm the authenticity of any announcements are encouraged to contact the Ministry’s Public Relations Unit or consult its official communication platforms.

The Ministry of Agriculture remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding transparency, safeguarding public trust, and fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable agricultural sector for the benefit of all Zambians.
