MTENDERE MAN FOUND DEAD IN HOME, NO FOUL PLAY SUSPECTED

Police in Mtendere Compound are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 42 year old man who was discovered lifeless in his home earlier this morning.
According to a report received at Kalikiliki Police Post around 12:55 hours, the deceased, identified as Mr. David Mapika, was found unresponsive by his younger brother, Mr. Teddy Mapika, aged 41, who resides in the same community. The discovery was made at approximately 05:40 hours, prompting Mr. Mapika to report the matter and transport the body to the nearest health facility.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the late Mr. Mapika had a documented history of mental health issues and was undergoing treatment at Chainama Hills Hospital. Initial police assessments found no evidence of foul play and the case is currently classified as a Brought In Dead (B.I.D).
A formal B.I.D. certificate has been issued, and the body has since been taken to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) Mortuary for further examination and completion of official procedures.
While foul play is not suspected, police have stated that investigations will proceed in accordance with standard protocols to rule out any underlying concerns.
