Kabompo, North Western Province, Zambia
The Government of Zambia has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to infrastructure development in Kabompo District, with a renewed focus on timely completion and quality delivery of ongoing projects.
This assurance was given by the North Western Province Permanent Secretary, Col. Grandson Wishikoti Katambi (Rtd), during a recent tour of the district to monitor the status of key government-funded developments.
Col. Katambi conducted on-site inspections at several strategic infrastructure projects, including the construction of a modern bus station, a new police station, Food Reserve Agency (FRA) storage facilities, and multiple educational institutions. The inspection forms part of a broader New Dawn Government initiative to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public infrastructure delivery.
Expressing satisfaction with the pace and standard of the works so far, the Permanent Secretary emphasized that the Government—under the leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema—remains focused on fulfilling its developmental agenda for all regions, particularly rural communities.
“I am encouraged by the progress I have seen here in Kabompo. These projects are not just buildings; they represent our commitment to improving public services and uplifting the lives of our people,” Col. Katambi said.
He further cautioned contractors against delays and urged strict adherence to approved project specifications and timelines. “There will be no room for laxity or substandard work. Contractors must deliver on time and in line with the expected quality standards,” he warned.
The visit underscores the New Dawn Government’s proactive approach to monitoring public investments and ensuring that development efforts translate into tangible benefits for local communities.
