UPND SECRETARY GENERAL CALLS FOR INVESTIGATION INTO FAKE NEWS ON PRESIDENT HICHILEMA’S HEALTH

The Secretary General of the United Party for National Development (UPND), Mr. Batuke Imenda, has urged the police to launch an investigation into the dissemination of false information concerning the health of President Hakainde Hichilema.
Speaking during campaign activities in the streets of Petauke, Mr. Imenda stressed the importance of holding accountable those responsible for propagating such damaging falsehoods, labeling their actions as cybercrimes.
“These so-called prophets of doom should be arrested for spreading propaganda that serves no purpose. They are wasting their time peddling lies,” he stated emphatically.
Mr. Imenda called on law enforcement authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice, emphasizing the need to safeguard the President’s reputation and prevent the spread of malicious content.
As part of his address, Mr. Imenda also took the opportunity to rally support for the UPND candidate in the upcoming by-election scheduled for 6th February, 2025, in Petauke.
He urged residents to turn out in large numbers to vote, highlighting the transformative programs spearheaded by the UPND government under President Hichilema.
He detailed key achievements of the administration, including:
(1)Universal free education from Grade 1 to Grade 12.
(2)Recruitment of teachers, healthcare workers, and military personnel.
(3)Increased social cash transfer programs to uplift vulnerable communities.
(4)Enhanced funding for Constituency Development Funds (CDF).
(5)Community Initiatives: Introduction of cash-for-work and food-for-work programs.
(6) Reestablishment of peace and discipline in bus stations and markets and many more to mention.
Mr. Imenda emphasized that these initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to improving the lives of Zambians and called on the people of Petauke to support the UPND to ensure the continuity of these progressive policies.
“The work of President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND government speaks for itself. Let us unite and vote for continued development,” he concluded.
