‎The United Party for National Development (UPND) National Youth leadership has paid tribute to media houses and journalists aligned with the party for their unwavering commitment and sacrifice in advancing the UPND agenda from the days of opposition to its years in government.

‎Speaking during a luncheon held at Mable’s Events Park in Chibombo, UPND Deputy National Youth Information and Publicity Secretary Paul Mweemba expressed deep appreciation for the relentless work of aligned media teams who have continued to tell the UPND story with dedication and consistency.

‎Mr. Mweemba, who personally sponsored the luncheon as a gesture of gratitude, said the media’s role has been indispensable in shaping public perception and amplifying government achievements under President Hakainde Hichilema’s leadership.

‎ “You stood firm with the party when it was unpopular to do so. You continued to carry the message of hope during the most difficult times and even now, you remain the voice that highlights our progress and policies,” Mr. Mweemba said.

‎“As we move closer to the 2026 general elections, unity and coordination between the Youth Wing and the media remain essential in defending and promoting the government’s development narrative.”

‎Guest of Honour and UPND National Youth Information and Publicity Secretary Francis Kope commended the aligned media for their consistency in communicating key national achievements and reforms. He urged them to remain steadfast and to continue simplifying complex economic stories so that citizens at all levels can appreciate the government’s impact.

‎“We acknowledge that your efforts often go unnoticed, but your influence in shaping public understanding of our economic transformation is significant,” said Mr. Kope.

‎“This time, as a party, we want to work differently, inclusively, ensuring that media practitioners at every level are part of the developmental communication process.”

‎The event, which drew youth representatives and UPND aligned media concluded with renewed commitments toward stronger collaboration, improved information flow, inclusive and shared strategic goals between the UPND Youth Wing and its aligned media partners.

‎Participants described the meeting as “a new beginning and a renewed partnership of purpose” signaling a stronger, more coordinated communication front as the party prepares for the next election cycle.
