ZAMBIA DEEPENS DIPLOMATIC TIES WITH MONGOLIA AS AMBASSADOR ZYUULU PRESENTS CREDENTIALS

In a significant step towards bolstering bilateral relations, His Excellency Mr. Ivan Zyuulu, Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to Mongolia, formally presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency Mr. Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, President of the Republic of Mongolia, during a solemn ceremony held at the State House on 21st April 2025.

President Khurelsukh welcomed Ambassador Zyuulu and conveyed Mongolia’s readiness to further strengthen diplomatic engagement with Zambia. He affirmed his government’s full support for the Ambassador’s mission, expressing confidence in his capacity to enhance cooperation between the two countries. The Mongolian Head of State also reaffirmed his country’s commitment to advancing multilateral collaboration through platforms such as the United Nations and other international bodies.

Following the presentation ceremony, Ambassador Zyuulu held discussions with Mongolia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Ms. Batmunkh Battsetseg. During the engagement, Ambassador Zyuulu reiterated Zambia’s commitment to deepening ties with Mongolia and identified key areas for enhanced partnership, including mining, agriculture, and tourism—sectors pivotal to the economic development of both nations.

He underscored Zambia’s interest in drawing on Mongolia’s experience in mineral exploration and sustainable agricultural practices to promote shared prosperity. Ambassador Zyuulu also acknowledged the enduring cordial relations between the two countries and expressed optimism about expanding bilateral cooperation.

In response, Minister Battsetseg echoed Mongolia’s interest in strengthening diplomatic and economic relations with Zambia. She reaffirmed her government’s openness to exploring new avenues for mutual collaboration and praised the historical friendship between the two nations.

This diplomatic engagement marks a renewed commitment by both countries to deepen cooperation and pursue shared development objectives on the global stage.
