CEEC EMPOWERING SMEs THROUGH FINANCIAL LITERACY TRAINING

The Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC), in collaboration with ACCA Zambia, is spearheading a five-day post-disbursement financial literacy training for over 95 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) funded by the Commission in Lusaka Province.

This initiative aligns with CEEC’s broader mission, which extends beyond financial support to include skills development, a critical pillar in fostering long-term economic empowerment.

This program aims to strengthen SMEs by equipping them with essential financial management skills, focusing on:

  1. Financial Literacy Enhancement – Providing SMEs with the tools to manage finances effectively.
  2. Business Management Improvement – Strengthening decision-making and operational efficiency.
  3. Regulatory Compliance – Ensuring businesses adhere to financial and business regulations.
  4. Loan Repayment Optimization – Promoting responsible financial planning and debt management.
  5. Risk Management Strengthening – Helping SMEs identify and mitigate financial risks.
  6. Fraud Prevention & Detection – Equipping businesses with strategies to prevent financial fraud.

Through this training, CEEC reaffirms its commitment to fostering financially sustainable and well-governed enterprises, ultimately driving economic resilience and national development.

  1. This is good,capacity building is key to sustainable development and growth, the challenge is how to acquire a loan as a small scale business person, since collateral is demanded. Loan acquirements terms aught to look at the general view of many people’s society standing. Otherwise we commend the noble gesture of conducting a training for the loans recipients, it is a good thing and must continue.
