The Zambia Police Service has launched an intensive manhunt for two male suspects involved in separate incidents of murder and unlawful wounding reported in Mufumbwe and Mpika Districts, respectively.
In the first case, police are pursuing Ibu Likomeno, who is alleged to have murdered his wife, Justina Sempanya, aged 24, of Kashima East, Mufumbwe District in North Western Province.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the deceased had left her matrimonial home following marital disputes and was staying with her parents. She later returned to her husband’s residence on September 30, 2025, to collect personal belongings. Tragically, on October 1, 2025, she was found dead with multiple stab wounds.
The body was deposited at Mufumbwe District Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem examination and has since been buried. The suspect remains at large and police have intensified efforts to track him down.
In a separate incident, police in Mpika District are also searching for Danny Mubanga, aged 22, of Chisowa Village, who is wanted in connection with a case of unlawful wounding. The suspect allegedly stabbed his wife in the left ear and eye on October 2, 2025, around 22:00 hours before fleeing the scene.
The Zambia Police Service has appealed to members of the public to assist with any information that may lead to the apprehension of the two suspects by reporting to the nearest police station or calling the emergency hotline.
